Gospel: Matthew 21:33–43, 45–46 The Kingdom of God given In today’s Gospel, Jesus likened the Kingdom of God to that of a vineyard leased by a landowner to his tenants, and these tenants leasing the vineyard took it as their own disregarding the landowner’s rights to his property. Like the tenants in the Gospel, God also entrusts to us His Kingdom through the Word of God and He want us not to keep it only for ourselves but for us to bear its fruits by praying with it and sharing it to His people. #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 16:19–31 “At his gate lay Lazarus, a poor man.” (cf. Luke 16:20) In the eyes of men, prominent are those that earned the riches of the world but not in the eyes of God, who distinguishes those that obtained their places in His Kingdom. This is undeniably shown in our Gospel today which has given a name to a poor man rather than that to a rich man. Out there in our society, there are many people like Lazarus needing to be known and served. And as followers of Christ, let today’s Gospel challenge us to familiarize ourselves more with the poor as we serve in the peripheries. #PrayVD

Gospel: Matthew 20:17–28 “Be like the Son of Man who came, not to be served but to serve.” (cf. Matthew 20:28) It is such a wonder how there is always a kind of “chair” that ambitious people want to “sit” onto and be regarded high and absolute. Such reality has been touched by Jesus in our Gospel today as two of His disciples aimed to be seated at His right and left in His Kingdom. As Christians, we should not aim to just sit onto our comforts not stressing out on our conveniences, watching how life could easily be for us but to walk into the peripheries reaching out to the burdened, easing life for them. May we be like St. Katharine Drexel, a philanthropist who chose to inherit not the fortune of the world but the richness of the Kingdom of God. #PrayVD

Gospel: Matthew 23:1–12 Great yet Humble Greatness is not about how much one is being admired by many but how much one has dedicated his life to humble service for many. The admiration that every one of us must aspire should be the one coming from God and not from the people, for the humblest services dedicated are those not seen by many but witnessed by the One who sees everything. Today Jesus is inviting us into a great life aspiring purely of God’s delight and not of people’s awe. #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 6:36–38 “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” (cf. Luke 6:36) As children of the Heavenly Father, His mercy flows through our lives giving us the capacity to be merciful as He is. Today’s Gospel highlights not the repercussions of man’s deeds but the invitation to be a manifestation of the Heavenly Father’s immeasurable mercy to the people we encounter. As we journey through this season of Lent, let us reflect on those moments when we are being invited to live out the mercy that we inherited from our Heavenly Father. #PrayVD

Gospel – Mark 9:2-10 "Listen to him.” In the Gospel Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves. Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; from the cloud came a voice, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.” Our God sends his beloved son not only to save us but also to show and teach us how to live. The word of God is always there in the church, in our house, in the community but sometimes we ignore it because we focus our mind in our problems, worries and selfishness . Because of that, we live in the wrong way. If we try to open our minds and hearts to listen to him we can assure you that we will have a better life. Lord give us knowledge to understand your words. Amen." #PrayVD

Gospel, Matthew 5:43-48 love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you; It's not easy for us to understand each other because of our different opinions, beliefs and attitude. With that, we usually have conflicts. The Gospel tells us that we still need to love our neighbours. Even if we have differences, we should respect them the way we want to be respected. And if they do not stop doing something against us, don't fight back in revenge but conquer evil with love. Do not condone the evil deed but do not hate the sinner. We should pray for them, not to condemn, but to ask God to give us courage to help each other grow into holiness. #PrayVD

Gospel, Matthew 5:20-26 Settle with your opponent quickly The Gospel is telling us that we need to become humble and we need to learn to communicate to our neighbours. It doesn't matter who made the mistake. The most important thing is we try to humble ourselves and to compromise with our enemy so we can forgive each other. If we want to stop hatred and to have a peaceful mind we needed to learn how to forgive. #PrayVD

Gospel, Matthew 7:7-12 “Will be given to you” Our God is a loving God. He is a good parent to all of us, but it does not mean that he will give everything to us. He doesn't want us to become lazy. So If we need something in our life we should work for it and he will provide everything we need. Lord God thank you for everything you've given to us. #PrayVD

Gospel, Luke 11:29-32 there is something greater than Jonah here. Jonah is the prophet used by God to save the people of Nineveh, so the question is; if there is something greater than Jonah?. Can we be greater than Jonah? We know that no one can be above our God and Jesus is inviting us to be like Him. He gave us different tasks to fulfil, so it isn't important if we will be greater than Jonah or not. The important thing is, if we do what the Lord has given to us. Lord Jesus helps us to fulfil the tasks that that the Lord gave us. #PrayVD |
