Gospel: John 7:40-53 "The crowd was divided over Him." (cf. John 7:43) In our present time, the enemies of the truth devise delicate ways to divide the people through feeding them with abundant information that are not true - trolling with fake news. The same picture could be seen in today's Gospel with the people being divided in their beliefs about Jesus - it was confusion to the highest order. But one man stood out, and it was Nicodemus who spoke among the officers of the temple to know the truth first. May we be like Nicodemus who have the courage to influence others into knowing the truth first before believing and sharing the information that we receive. Let us be vigilant with things that we share to other people. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30 "I was sent by the One who is true." (cf. John 7:28) Today, Jesus loudly announced the truth to the people - that He was sent by the One who is true. Though He knew that this might provoke the people into killing Him, He stood courageous in expressing the truth. In these days when various information could be easily shared and believed, some people are taking the opportunity to fool the innocent through their act of "trolling". May we be not like the people in today's Gospel - only believing with hearsays that they receive. Let us have the initiative to know the truth and courage to express it as Jesus did. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 5:31-47 Witnesses to Jesus It might be impossible to testify to things that our bare eyes cannot see but it is inevitable for faithful to stand as witnesses as they concretely encounter Jesus in their lives. In today's Gospel, Jesus expressed His frustration to the Jews with their disbelief to Him. Though they personally encounter the Son of Man in flesh, they still cannot believe the wonders that He had made. Today, we are invited to hold on to our faith as we encounter Jesus and to stand as witnesses to His presence in our lives. #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 1:26-38 Mary's Yes In the scene of the Annunciation, Mary has shown her faithfulness to God through her act of acceptance to His will for her - to become the Mother of Jesus. With a graceful heart, Mary was the first person to believe and express her faith to Christ - the Son of the Most High. And this is also the faith that gave fruition to God's plan of salvation for man. Today, let us have a moment to be inspired with the example of Mary's faithfulness to God. May we also have the same conviction as we say "Yes" to the will of God to our lives. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 5:1-16 "Do you want to be healed?" (cf. John 5:6) All of us need healing in one way or another. And Jesus is always ready to heal us - He only needs us to believe. In today's Gospel, a man who has been ill for thirty eight years encountered Jesus and experienced His healing power. Today we are invited to have this kind of encounter with Jesus. Some of us might be limited at this moment but believe that our prayers offer no limits in encountering Jesus. Let us ask Mother Mary to draw us closer to Jesus as we yearn to encounter Him more in our lives. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 4:43-54 Have faith in the Word. In this time of uncertainties, there's still one thing that we could believe - the Word of Jesus that heals and saves. In today's Gospel, Jesus healed the official's son through His Word and it is also through the faith of the official that his son was healed. Today, we are called to strengthen our faith in the Word of God. Let us also be still in knowing that God is with us in these time of challenges. #PrayVD

Jn 9:1-41 “Jesus opens your eyes so that you may see” Jesus heals the blind man on a sabbath day that made a spectacle to the pharisees. This is a strong message of God not to live our life in a routine but to live more than that. Sabbath day is the day we go to church and attend the mass but Jesus invites us to live our lives more than that. Jesus invites us to be His disciples and follow Him. Like the blind man who was healed and was brought to the pharisees, we are invited to speak about Jesus. We speak, we preach Jesus to the world. It is by the grace of God the He opened our eyes to see the truth. Let us follow Jesus as we speak the truth to the world. We thank you Lord for the grace of seeing the truth. By your grace we are enlightened and we will not be lost. Please continue to guide us so that we may receive your grace so that we can tell to the world the truth. #PrayVD

Lk 18:9-14 “Genuine prayer of love” Have you had a sincere prayer moments? How does it feel when you have a sincere and genuine prayer? In the gospel Jesus shows to us what happens when we have a genuine prayer. When you had a genuine prayer, you will feel justified. You are at peace because God always listens to a genuine prayer. Mama Mary, teach us to pray genuinely and with love so that we may grow our relationship with Jesus and fall in love with Him. #PrayVD

Mk 12:28-34 “You are not far from the Kingdom of God” In this world facing crisis from covid-19, there is panic, there is fear, there is lose of hope and we all wish that this crisis will go away already. We are wishing a place without crisis, panic, fear and full of hope. What we are wishing is the Kingdom of God where there is no crisis. The gospel tells us to love God with our everything and love our neighbours as we love ourselves and the Kingdom is not far from us. Let us give more love and fill this world with love until it becomes the Kingdom of God. Let this love heal the world and remove the crisis. Jesus, you are the source of love. Mt 1:16, 18-21, 24a “Bring Mother Mary and Jesus home” Today we celebrate the solemnity of Saint Jospeh, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Today’s feast tells us to be obedient and faithful to God like what Joseph did. Because of Joseph’s faithfulness and obedience and also being the father and husband to Jesus and Mary, they were able to find home with us. The gospel invites us to bring Mama Mary and Jesus to us and be their home. Let us grow our relationship with Mama Mary and Jesus as we take part in God’s journey of salvation. Jesus, Mama Mary, may you help us to grow our relationship with you so that we may take part in God’s glory. #PrayVD |
