Gospel: John 8:12-20 "Even though I bear witness to myself, my testimony is true." (cf. John 8:14) People nowadays always ask for pictures as proof; having a mindset of “Pics or it didn’t happen.” It isn’t wrong to ask for visual proof but faith is not meant for sight. As Christians, we are gifted with faith through our concrete encounters of Jesus giving light in our daily lives. May our lives be the proof of our testimonies of faith bearing ourselves as witnesses to Jesus being the light of the world. #PrayVD

Gospel: Jn 8:1-11 “Mercy and Love of God” Lent is a season of repentance and especially a season where we grow more in the love and mercy of God. This season is a good time for us to pray and meditate on what Christ did for us, for us to have eternal life. When we realize how much God loves us, it will surely overflow in us and the world will experience it too for we can now give what we already have and that is the love of God. This is the answer to the realities the world is experiencing. If every one of us realizes the love of God, there will be forgiveness, mercy and love. With this the world will surely smile. Holy Spirit, help us to understand more the love of God. #PrayVD

Gospel: Jn 7:40-53 “In God’s Time” In the previous gospel readings, there were several attempts to capture Jesus but those attempts failed and the passion of Christ should happen in God’s time. We may have noticed the division that happened in the gospel. Some believed in Jesus and some did not. In our journey there are times we might be the unbelieving or we might be the believing. We might have failed to believe because we couldn’t see the fruit of our prayers and labors but God has heard and seen everything. The things you have asked and you have worked on, it will come in God’s time. Holy Spirit, grant us the gift of faith and patience. #PrayVD

Gospel: Jn 7:1-2, 25-30 “Realize that He is Christ” In the gospel, other people recognize Jesus as if He was not the son of God. It was like it was very hard to believe that He is the son of God unless miracles or something extraordinary is seen by their eyes. We are very lucky and blessed that we have inherited the faith in God. We recognize Jesus as our Lord because we let our faith in Him see the miracles and what is extraordinary in our everyday life. It is our turn now to pass this faith and let the others look at the miracles and the extraordinary through faith. Holy Spirit, help us spread this faith to the world. #PrayVD

Gospel: Jn 5:31-47 “Testify Jesus in your lives” Jesus said “If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not true. But if there is another who testifies on My behalf, And I know that the testimony he gives on My behalf is true.” We, disciples of Christ are the living testimony of Christ through our lives. Let us continue to become a testimony of Christ because through us many people will believe in the truth. Mama Mary, guide us in knowing more about Jesus so that we may testify more how amazing our Lord Jesus is. #PrayVD

Gospel: Jn 5:17-30 “To the Resurrection of Life” Amidst the busy schedules we have in our life, God is also working up until now. God is still doing great things in our life that makes us grow more spiritually and to show us how beautiful the will of God is. All of that is for us to be resurrected in life when the time comes. In this Lenten season, God is reminding us the promise of resurrection despite our busy schedules and commitments we are working on. God is working so we must work too and claim that promise. Holy Spirit, may you light our way and guide us to the hope of resurrection. #PrayVD

Gospel: Jn 5:1-16 “Rise, take up your mat, and walk” Sometimes we are bounded by our culture, superstitions, etc. We are like the man in the gospel being bounded by the law of Sabbath prohibiting him to rise, to take his mat, and walk. When we celebrate Easter, we are celebrating with God for His glory. God free us from sins. Easter is the celebration of our freedom. In this gospel, Jesus is telling us that through Him we will be free. Jesus will break those things that bind us and prohibit us to be free. Let us pray to our Mother Mary to guide us and inspire us to rise, to take our mat, and walk. #PrayVD

Gospel: Jn 4:43-54 “Signs and Wonders” “You may go, your son will live”. Those were the words Jesus said to the man whose son is dying. The man believed what Jesus said to him and saw that his son lived. Jesus is telling us that we will be able to see the signs and wonders of the Lord when we believe first. It is a good time for us during this Lenten season to believe more in Jesus and see the wonders of the glory of Easter. Let us pray to the Holy Spirit to grant us the gift of believing. #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 15:1-3, 11-32 “He was lost, but now he has been found.” (Luke 15:32) God never stops loving us. In many moments that we have gone astray, He has always led us in coming back to Him. This is the hope that we can hold on to especially in this time of Lent – that God, our Father, values our little desire and attempts to go back to Him. And just like with the prodigal son, He is always excited to run, throw his arms around us, and kiss us. Have you thanked God today for always finding you? #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 18:9-14 “…and those who humble themselves will be made great.” (cf Luke 18:14) Today’s gospel warns us of self-righteousness and invites us to contemplate on the attitude of humility. As we continue to take the Lenten journey, we are called to live with humility knowing that the greatness that comes from this virtue lies in recognizing our need of God and allowing others to see God at work in our lives. How is Jesus inviting you to be humble today? #PrayVD |
