Mt 9:35-10:1,5A,6-8 “Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give” The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. When Jesus died on the cross we have received it already. We become aware that we already have the Kingdom because it was proclaimed to us through the good news. We have received the Kingdom without cost and God is inviting us to give the good news to others so that they are aware that there is something beautiful God has given to them. In the world of today, many are unaware of this gift of God. They might have walked on a different path. Some are depressed and hopeless because they do not know that they have this gift already. By proclaiming the good news we help others open their gift that will renew their lives. Holy Spirit, grant us the grace so that we may proclaim the Kingdom of God to many #PrayVD

Mt 9:27-31 “Let it be done according to your faith” “Let it be done according to your faith”, this is what Jesus said when he healed the two blind man and they were healed because they have faith. Probably, when the two blind man doubted Jesus maybe they will not be healed. As we reflect on this passage, we identify how is our faith with Jesus. Are we 100% faithful or there are doubts in our hearts? In these trying times, Jesus is inviting us to put our 100% faith in Him and trust the will of God for us. Open our ears and hearts to what God is saying because these trying times will bring us to our salvation. Mama Mary, teach us to be always faithful to God and submit to His will #PrayVD

Mt 7:21,24-27 “Like a wise man who built his house on the rock” To enter the kingdom of heaven, is to be like a wise man who has built his house on the rock. It is the one who listen to the word of God and acts on it. The word of God is the building blocks of our house so where do we put those building blocks? Sometimes we are unaware on where have we put the words we heard. Sometimes we are on fire taking care of the word we have heard but when a situation comes then we totally forget the word we should have treasured. Jesus is inviting us to be always aware of the word that we have received from Him. Whatever the situation is we must not forget so that we may be able to build the house in our hearts and serve as God’s kingdom Holy Spirit, grant us the grace to be able to treasure the word of God in our life so that we may be able to bring God’s kingdom in the world of today #PrayVD

Mt 15:29-37 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked the disciples how many loaves do they have because Jesus does not want to leave the crowd hungry and might collapse along the way. Jesus is also asking the same question to us because many are hungry for the word of God and Jesus doesn’t want the world to collapse. Jesus calls us to give our 5 loaves and 2 fishes. It may look few and impossible to feed the world but in God’s eyes it is always enough. Mama Mary, teach us to be generous so that we may be able to give our 5 loaves and 2 fishes and be able to feed those who hunger for God’s love. #PrayVD

Lk 10:21-24 “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see” God has given us a gift to see the things that only we can see. As we journey in our life we might have seen the things that are meant to be our mission place. In our own family, workplace, or in school because we understand what is the situation on those things that are very close to our hearts. We are called to enjoy the gift of mission especially those mission places that are unique and very close to us so that we may do evangelization and fill it with God’s love. Mama Mary, teach us to treasure the things God has revealed to us so that we may be able to spread His love. #PrayVD

Mt 4:18-22 “I will make you fishers of men” Jesus said “Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men”. Jesus is inviting is to follow Him and he by His grace, we will be able to become fishers of men. Sometimes in our life we are hesitant to follow because we think we are not capable of doing so. We think we are not capable because maybe we have so many things to do or we are busy doing other things. We are also thinking that we don’t have what it takes to be “fishers of men”. To become fishers of men, we just have to follow Jesus and let His grace qualifies us to be fishers of men. Mama Mary, teach us to be able to say yes to Jesus in all of the time so that we may be able to become fishers of men #PrayVD

Gospel: Mark 13: 33-37 YOU KNOW NOT WHEN THE TIME IS Today is the first Sunday of Advent, the start of the new Liturgical Year. The Gospel today is a reminder that we should always be spiritually ready for the Second Coming of Jesus, for we do not know when the time is. God loves us so much. His only desire is for us to be reunited with Him for eternity. The Holy Bible reveals to us everything that we need to know about our Creator and His great saving plan for us. It is where God speaks to us. Hence, it is necessary to immerse in God's Word everyday, by listening or reading Gospel homilies, reading the Holy Bible and reflecting on it. Then pray for the grace of wisdom and understanding that we may act on it, and be transformed by it. Mama Mary, grant unto us your virtue of simplicity of heart. We desire to be attentive only to what truly matters in the eyes of your Son Jesus, so He may find us most pleasing upon His return. Amen. #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 21: 34-36 YOUR HEARTS BE OVERCHARGED WITH THE CARES OF THIS LIFE Lately, I have been immersed in the care of my plants as I have been captivated by their beauty and the joy it brings. It consumed most of my time and thoughts that it considerably limited my time to prayer and distracted my focus. And I can hardly write anything spiritual for lack of inspiration. I realized all the more why prayer and a heartfelt spiritual communion is so important and indispensable, if we are to remain profoundly connected with God. What are the things in this world that have captivated our minds and hearts? May we be reminded that God made all these beautiful and wondrous creations for us to enjoy. But God must always come first and He may be glorified through them. May this also remind us of what is passing in this life and what is eternal that matters most. Dear God, thank you for all your blessings. We glorify your greatness in all your creations. Amen. #PrayVD

May we remember this as we struggle from the effects of this pandemic and all sorts of natural calamities, and the challenges brought about by sickness, financial difficulties and other problems. God's Word represents truth and love that is never changing and will last forever. Mama Mary, we reaffirm that we belong to the kingdom of your Son Jesus. We ask for your assistance, so no matter when he comes to call us, we are ready. Amen. #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 21: 20-28 YOUR REDEMPTION IS AT HAND We will notice that the Gospel readings this week focus on the end times. While we are told about the distress and great tribulation that will happen, it also speaks of our momentous redemption. God assures us not to fear. The phrase "Do not be afraid", "Fear not" or its close synonyms: terrified, anxious, worried, dismayed, shaken, etc., are the most commonly repeated words in the Bible. God understands that our human weakness for fear of sickness and death, losing what we value most, losing our battles in life, or the thought of the world coming to an end, may overwhelm us. But the Lord assures us over and over not to be afraid of anything. As long as we obey God and we remain faithful to Him, the end of this earthly life is only the beginning of what is endless, that is, an eternal life of perfect happiness with Him in heaven. Most Holy Trinity, we believe in you. We trust in your promises. Amen. #PrayVD |
