Gospel: Mk 2:13-17 “I did not come to call the righteous but sinners” We who received Jesus in our hearts desires to come to those who needs evangelization. Yes, it is us who will bring Jesus to those who are in need of Him. In the gospel, Jesus showed love to the sinners and He ate with them. This gives confidence of the love of God. Jesus is capable of loving those who we see not worthy of loving. Jesus loves us even at our worst. Let this love of God drive us to reach out those who needs Jesus more. Mama Mary, you who brought Christ to the world to spread love; may you guide us as we bring Christ in our hearts and reach out who are in need #PrayVD

Gospel: Mk 2:1-12 “Jesus saw your faith” Faith allows us to see the works of God. Faith connects us to Jesus. In the gospel, Jesus not only forgive sins but healed the paralytic man and made him rise and walk because Jesus saw the faith of the people. Jesus is telling us to be confident and put your faith in Him for He knows what is the best for you. In this new year, let us put our faith in God and let God direct our lives this year and see our lives bear fruit. Holy Spirit, grant us more faith so that we may follow Jesus always. #PrayVD

Gospel: Mk 1:40-45 “Jesus makes us clean” Jesus our very merciful God. Through His mercy He makes us clean again. When Jesus makes us clean, He renews us. In our life, at some point we really need to be cleaned and Jesus is willing to do it for us. Sometimes when we are going through hardships in life we tend to find cleaning from other things. When in need to be cleaned seek Jesus and he will not only clean you but renew your life. With Jesus, we find a brand new hope and a more beatiful perspective. O merciful Jesus clean and renew us. #PrayVD

Gospel: Mk 1:29-39 “Let us go on the nearby villages” Jesus is showing us in the gospel to go to the nearby villages and evangelize. How are the villages near us? Are we able to evangelize through our deeds, our thoughts or our action?Jesus reminds us to live out the word not only when we are in church or in community but to live out and evangelize in our everyday normal lives. To evangelize in school, in our work even at home with our family. Lord, may you teach us to become more selfless so that we may be able to give love to the “nearby villages” of our life. #PrayVD

Gospel: Mk 1:21-28 “Receive the word of God” In the gospel, you will witness how the word of God works in our life. Word of God are words of teachings. When we live the Word it will make us astonished. In the gospel also, when Jesus speaks we become clean and drives out unclean spirits away. Word of God heals. Receive the word for it gives life to us. Holy Spirit, teach us and open our hearts and mind so that we may receive and live out the Word of God #PrayVD

Gospel: Mk 1:14-20 “This is the time of fulfillment” Jesus shares to us the Kingdom of God and He wants us to take part on its fulfillment. To fulfill it is to follow Jesus and to give love because the true fulfillment of our life is not only to just receive love but to give it. It is when we give ourselves we find our joy complete. Holy Spirit, may you help us see the joy and fulfillment every time we give ourselves and may we give it because of love. #PrayVD

Gospel: Matthew 3:13-17 "This is my son, the Beloved; he is my Chosen One." (cf. Matthew 3:17) Today, we celebrate the feast of the Lord's baptism. As He was baptized, we are affirmed of his identity as the beloved son of God. Our own baptism tells us who we are – our real identity as God's beloved children. Our identity is not being defined by wealth, success, power, social status, our sins and failures. Is by a name pronounced by God in us “my Chosen One”, what it means in our daily life? We are more than we have. We are baptized becoming our true self – our true identity as beloved children of God. Live it! #PrayVD

Gospel: John 3:22-30 "It is necessary that He increase, but that I decrease." (cf. John 3:30) John reaffirmed that he is not the Messiah but only the one who prepares the way. In doing mission, do we recognize or do we give the credit to Jesus, believing that we can do things because of his mercy and love? John the Baptist knows that he should not be the one that people adores, acknowledging that he is the one who point to the true Messiah, His life is a path for Him. May we be like John the Baptist, persons who open the way to the Lord . Amen. #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 5:12-16 "Lord if you want to, you can make me clean." (cf. Luke 5:12) In today’s Gospel, a leper came close to Jesus. He had to live away from people because they believed that whoever touches him will become impure. But the Leper has a great courage, recognizing that only Jesus can heal him – believing in Jesus. We can see in today’s Gospel how Jesus was moved with compassion going against the law to be able to cure the leper. Like the leper, do we have the courage to stretch out our hands and reach God asking "Lord if you want to, you can make me clean."? #PrayVD January 9, 2020 Thursday
Gospel: Luke 4:14-22 "The spirit of the Lord is upon me" (cf. Luke 4:18) In today's Gospel, Jesus outlines the challenges he’s facing as the Messiah. Empowered by the spirit, he will bring the good news and proclaim liberty; he will restore sights to the blind and free the imprisoned. As followers of Christ, it is our mission to do the same. We couldn't fulfill our mission to proclaim the Good news without considering all the aspects of life. We have to liberate and remove everything that hinders us from becoming children of God, such us injustice, addiction, sin, poverty, hunger, oppression and to give the freedom, Hope, love that only in Jesus man can have. It is not enough just to be a fan of Christ but we are also called to imitate Him and respond to the mission of bringing the Good news of salvation to all. #PrayVD |
